Elkader Register, Thur., 30 July 1891.

We are informed that Samuel Bowman of Osterdock, died on the 20th inst. "Uncle Sam" as everyone called him, was among the very early settlers of Mallory township. He had a large circle of friends throughout the county, and all will deeply mourn his death.
