Elkader Register, Thur., 19 Feb. 1891. Garnavillo column.

Jacob Stien, father of Mrs. Chris. Bauer, died last Tuesday and was buried here on Friday. He was born in Switzerland, and came to this country some 40 years ago. His son, Matthew, a rich merchant from St. Paul, was present at the funeral.
