A deck hand was lost off the Minnesota Bell Tuesday morning last, when between Clayton City and this place. He was engaged in transfering wood from a Flat boat in tow, to the steamer while in motion, and fell between the two, when he was immediately drawn under by the wheel. His body was not recovered and it is supposed he was killed by the wheel striking him.
