Elkader Register, Thur., 27 Sept. 1923. Fairview column.
Minnie Alice Barnhart, daughter of Albert and Isabelle Barnhart, was born in Clayton Co., Iowa, Dec. 18th, 1878.
She was united in marriage to S. E. Hansel, May 17th, 1898. To them were given ten children, five girls and five boys: Theodore Roosevelt, Opal Irene, Harvey Albert, Golda Belle, Cecil Elgen, Verna Elyria, Dale Edward, Dorothy Merline, Philiip Clark, Esther Madeline.
She passed from this life after a prolonged illness, to her reward Sept. 4th, 1923, aged 44 years, 8 months and 16 days.
Some thirty years ago she was converted, baptized and united with the U.B. Church at Fairview. She was patient and a true Christian in her last illness and several times assured us that all was well between her and her Savior.
She felt anxious since she knew she must go on, to very soon.
We could not wish her back, for she has gone to her heavenly rest.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her father and mother, four sisters, one brother, her husband and all of the sons and daughters.
God bless and comfort them all.
The funeral services were held at Bethel Sept. 7, conducted by the Pastor, Rev. D. L. Brock.
