Sylvester V. Winch, 50, Lamar, died at 4:55 a.m. Saturday in Barton County Memorial hospital, Lamar, of an apparent heart attack.
Born Dec. 31, 1906, at Littleport, Iowa, he had lived at Lamar one year moving there from Carthage. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are four sons, Ronald Winch of the state of Minnesota; Bradley Winch, Dubuque, Iowa and Bruce Winch, Joplin; a sister Mrs. Monica Bearnes, Dubuque and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held today at Broce - Konantz chapel with the Rev. Jim Triplett officiating.
Burial was in Lake cemetery.
