Elkader Register, Thur., 03 May 1923.

The death of Miss Mayme O'Leary occurred shortly after 10:00 o'clock Tuesday morning, May 1st, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Uriell, of this place. For over three years Miss O'Leary had been a patient sufferer from a strange paralytic disease, the nature of which baffled not only our local physicians but some of the most celebrated doctors of the country, at Milwaukee, Rochester, Minn., Minneapolis and elsewhere.

Mayme O'Leary was born at Monona, Iowa, October 11nd, 1882, the daughter of Daniel and Mary O'Leary. Her father died when she was quite young and her mother came to Elkader, later marrying F. J. Uriell of this place. In their home surrounded by loved ones Mayme grew to a beautiful womanhood. She was educated in St. Joseph's school, at St. Xaviers, Chicago, and at St. Mary's at Prairie du Chien, Wis. Natural talents in music and art were developed until she was accomplished in both, but above all was a sweet disposition, a sterling character, a womanly friendliness that made her respected and loved by all who knew her. During her long illness the sympathy of all was with her and now they sorrow that her struggle for health could not have been won.

Miss O'Leary is survived by her mother and step-father, and by four brothers and two sisters: Dennis O'Leary at Minneapolis; Daniel O'Leary at Dubuque; John O'Leary at Foxholm, N.D.; Frank Uriell at Chicago; and Florence Uriell and Mildred Uriell, who are attending St. Mary's college at Prairie du Chien.

Funeral services were held this morning at St. Joseph's church and were largely attended. Rev. J. P. Taken officiated and she was laid to rest in St. Joseph's cemetery to await the call of her Master.
