Elkader Register, Thur., 08 Mar. 1923.
Peter Miller, Sr., passed away at his home in Boardman township, February 26, 1923, at the age of 82 years, as a result of old age.
He was born February 2, 1841, at Kaundorf, Luxemburg, Germany, where he received his education. On July 3, 1865, he was united in marriage with Josephine Willmes, at Dubuque, and to this union 7 children were born, Peter, Dominick, Joseph, Michael, Nicholas, Phillip and Clara.
He came to this country in the pioneer days of 1860 and through hard labor was successful in becoming the owner of a fine farm in Boardman township.
Deceased was a member of the Catholic church here at Elkader. Funeral services were held last Thursday, conducted by Rev. J. P. Taken, with interment in St. Joseph's cemetery.
The following relatives from out of town were in attendance at the funeral: Phil Heles, Mrs. John Hennes and Peter Lei, all of Dubuque, and Merril J. Miller, of Iowa City.
