Elkader Register, Thur., 22 Feb. 1923. Luana column.

Grandpa Heins was not strong enough to battle with LaGrippe which developed into pneumonia. He passed away Friday afternoon about 2:30. He had reached the age of 81 years and six days. Funeral occurred this afternoon, Monday, at the Lutheran church, burial in the Luana cemetery. Rev. Kumpf officiated. His wife and three children preceded him some years ago. He leaves to mourn his death six children, John of Castalia, Julius of Postville, Mrs. Amelia Roth and Mrs. Emma Lubbers of Monona, Mrs. Louise Lindroth and Mrs. Sophia Lindroth of Luana, also six grandchildren.
