The death of Mabel Gladwin aged 13 years, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gladwin west of town occurred Sunday morning after a weeks illness. She had been having the measles and was thought to be doing as well as could be expected until she took a hard cold, and lived only a short time. Having passed the eighth grade exams she came to town after the holidays to continue her school work. Mabel was the idol of her parents and her sudden death came as a great shock to them. Being of a jolly disposition she gained friends wherever she went. Funeral services will probably be held at the M.E. church tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday) at two o'clock conducted by Rev. Kirbry. Interment will take place beside her little brother in the local cemetery. The sympathy of friends is extended to the heart broken parents but how little that consoles them with the parting of their only child.
