Waltenbaugh, Jacob 1846-1887

Jacob Waltenbaugh died September 20th, 1887; aged 41 years, and was buried in the Volga City cemetery. The services were held at the Paddleford school house, Rev. Montgomery officiating.

Deceased was a native ot Tarrentown, Pennsylvania, and enlisted from that place in 1862, as a private in the 139th Pennsylvania infantry, and served his country faithfully until the close of the war.

He moved to Iowa in 1868, and has been a resident of Sperry township ever since. He leaves a wife and eight children, three boys and five girls, together with a large circle of friends to mourn his death.
