Melissa Ann Grady-Clark, Monona, Iowa, December 7, 2021
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Melissa “Missy” Ann Grady-Clark, 50, of Monona, Iowa on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Melissa Ann was born June 22, 1971 to Robert and Lourdes Crucis (Corona) Grady in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
As a Navy “brat”, Missy lived her early years in Groton, Connecticut and Norfolk, Virginia before her father settled his family in Monona. After graduating from MFL High School, Missy continued her education at Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar, Iowa where she earned an Administrative Office Association Degree.
Her work in the public safety communications field, and in affiliate marketing led her to reside in Kingsport, Tennessee and LaCrosse, Wisconsin before returning to her hometown. She was recognized several times for her excellent communication, interpersonal skills and for exceeding performance goals.
Melissa remained close with her high school classmates of 1989 as well as members of the Upward Bound program. They still roll their eyes when they recall her dry humor, and warmly remember her infectious giggle, love of laughter and independent spirit. In her spare time, Missy enjoyed playing bingo, sudoku puzzles, cross stitch and diamond art painting.
Missy is survived by her loving mother, Ludy; sisters, Mary Jane (Ricky Franta) Glawe and Michelle (Tony) Barton, both of New Ulm, Minnesota; four nieces and nephews, Crysten (Eric Simmons) Glawe, Arielle (Carlos) Glawe Gonzalez, Michael Glawe, Brennan Glawe and her faithful ginger cat, Freddie. We are thankful for her uncle and aunts, numerous crazy cousins, and friends who supported her and loved Missy for who she was. She will forever be in our hearts and missed very much every day.
Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Robert Grady on April 23, 2006.
