Sharon Lee DeSotel, 80, of Monona, Iowa died Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Garden View Senior Community in Monona, Iowa. Sharon was born July 22, 1941 to Curtis and Anita (Bass) Wendel in Lansing, Iowa. She graduated from McGregor, High School.

On June 13, 1959, Sharon was united in marriage with Wayne DeSotel at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa. Two sons were born to this union.

Sharon owned and operated a craft supply business for many years. She enjoyed selling the jewelry that she made and repaired. Sharon also made over 2000 pajama bags and enjoyed playing cards.

Surviving Sharon are her husband, Wayne DeSotel of Monona, Iowa; son, Stacy DeSotel of Menasha, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Anita Wendel; son, Steven DeSotel; and one brother, Keith Wendel.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 pm on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Monona, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Monday.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, December 13, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church in Luana, Iowa with Pastor Jeremy Wolfe as the officiant.

Burial will follow at Luana City Cemetery, Luana, Iowa. Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monona, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
