Edgar A. Asmus was born at Colesburg, Ia., September 17, 1896 and died in France October 11, 1918.
He was a member of the Lutheran church, having been instructed in the Lutheran faith by Rev. Fritschel and was confirmed by him on July 29, 1917. On June 18 1918 he was united in marriage to Miss Esther Luther.
He was inducted into the service on July 25 and started his training for the service of his country at Camp Gordon, Atlanta, Ga. From there he was moved to Camp Merritt, N.J. and then to Camp Mills, Long Island. The last message received from him was dated at Montreal, Canada, Oct. 4.
The deceased leaves besides his wife, a father, one brother and three sisters. The brother Willard and one sister, Mamie, at home and two married sisters, Mrs. Carl Schug and Mrs. Gus Heyer.
To these and other relatives and warm friends sincere sympathy is extended.

Memorial services were held at the Lutheran church last Sunday morning in honor of Edgar A. Asmus who died at sea Oct. 10, At the time of his death the ban was on for influenza so that no public meetings could be held. The services were conducted by Rev. G. Fritschel.
