Michael Francis Dunn died at a hospital in Madison, Wis., November 8th, 1918, after an illness of two days of bronchial pneumonia. He had been the victim of nervous trouble for some months for which he was receiving treatment when stricken with pneumonia.
Deceased was born at Elkader, June 20th, 1882, the son of Michael P. and Margaret Dunn, and had reached the age of thirty-six years, four months and eighteen days when the death summons came.
But when a small boy his parents moved to Merrill, Wis., where he grew to manhood, taking up the occupation of saw filer in a saw mill there.
He is survived by his parents, two brothers, Harry of Wymore, Neb.; George C., of Waukesha, Wis.; one sister, Mrs. L. M. Hickey of Juneau, Wis., and other relatives besides a host of friends. He had never married.
His remains were shipped from Madison to McGregor where they were met by relatives and brought to the home of his uncle Peter Dunn, in Elkader, on Sunday. The funeral services were held Monday morning at 10:30 at St. Joseph's church, Rev. J. P. Taken officiating, and burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery. The sympathy of our community is with the bereaved ones in their sorrow.
