Woodrow Francis Kuhse, 62, of Elkader, died Saturday, November 13, 2021, at his home in Elkader. He was born April 24, 1959 in Prairie du Chien, WI, to Francis W. and Catherine (Weber) Kuhse.
He graduated from Garnavillo High School. Woody worked on a dairy farm and was known for driving the tractor home for lunch. He retired in January of 2021.
Woody enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his dogs. He was an enthusiastic coon hunter – even so he never carried a gun! One time he tried to shoo a coon up a tree with bare hands.
He was always willing to help and enjoyed baking cookies. He cooked lunch for Bernie every day after their mom passed away in February of 2019. He never turned down a meal and never complained about the cooking even so it wasn’t always good.
Survivors include his brothers, Bernard E. (Sandra) Kuhse of Edgewood, Joseph Kuhse of Dubuque, step-nephew, Lucas Walter-Klosterman and many friends.Woody was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
