The funeral of Will Hammond, cashier of the Colesburg bank, was conducted from the M.E. church in Colesburg on Friday afternoon by the pastor, Rev. Phillips, assisted by Rev. Riggs, of Fairview United Brethren church. All business places were closed during the sevices which was one of the largest attended funerals held in Colesburg. The Masons conducted their burial service at the Brown's cemetery where interment was made. Mr. Hammond was born in the Fairview neighborhood in 1882 and grew to manhood here. For a number of years he has been the cashier of the Colesburg bank and in such position has won the friendship and respect of the entire community. He was married in 1908 to Miss Ella Smith, who with his widowed mother, remain to mourn his departure.
