Miss Marie Elizabeth Helen Huebner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Huebner, was born April 23, 1891, near St. Sebald, Iowa. She received her education at the rural school in her home district. After she had received religious instructions in the Lutheran faith she was confirmed in the Lutheran church at this place in April, 1905. Her parents had only a few weeks before moved to a farm just north of town. For several years she clerked in one of the business places here. About three years ago her health began to fail which caused her in the fall of 1916 to go to a western climate to help find relief for her sickness. For nearly a year she, with her parents, was at Buffalo, Wyoming, but the desired relief was not found. She, with he parents, returned home September 14, 1917. Her condition slowly grew worse. She looked toward the end and had only the desire to be soon relieved of all the pains she had to endure. She passed to her heavenly home, Tuesday, Feb. 19, 1918. She leaves to mourn her early death, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Huebner, one brother, Fred, at home and a sister, Mrs. Helen Baarsch of Minnesota, besides other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church, Friday forenoon, Rev. Fritschel speaking in English and Rev. Eckhoff, of Twin Lakes, Minn., in German. The passing of this young girl takes from us one who looked forward to the joy of life. Interment took place in the local cemetery and the casket was covered with many beautiful flowers, showing the esteem in which she was held.
