Nelson Perry Morton was born Nov. 9, 1896, in Fitzgerald, Georgia. He died here at the home of his mother last Wednesday evening. At the time of his death he was twenty-one years, five months and four days old. The cause of his death was heart trouble. From boyhood he had often been a sufferer from inflammatory rheumatism. This affected his heart, causing continued ill health and the weakness from which he died. Most of the life of the deceased had been spent in this place. He was brought here by his parents when a baby. At times he has been absent for a few months working in various places. Just before the last illness he was working in Beloit, Wis. He finished the grade school and two years of the high school of Strawberry Point. There is left to mourn his death, his mother, Mrs. Martha Whitlock, and brother Henry, of this place, a grandfather, L. N. Joy, of Beloit, Wis., a stepfather, Duane Whitlock, three half-brothers and a half-sister, all of Strawberry Point, and many other relatives. Funeral services were held at the home Saturday, Feb. 16th, at 10:30 a.m., with interment in the Strawberry Point cemetery, Rev. E. D. Wells officiating.
