DIED - In Volga City, Clayton County, Iowa, on the 21st of April, 1865, of Parablogia, Norman Chesley. Aged 35 years.
Mr. Chesly was an able lawyer, and most eloquent speaker, and the bar of Clayton county loses one of its most talented members.

--- ---
Norman Chesley, a brilliant young lawyer, but of dissipated habits died recently at Volga City, in this county. We knew Norman well and regret his demise. He was sensitive, talented, social; the winds of life blow too rough for him. Genius often meets the fate of Chesley.
~Weekly North Iowa Times, Wednesday, May 24, 1865; pg 2 (Home and Other Items column)
