On Sunday morning, December 9, 1917, at her home in this city, occurred the death of Mrs. Emma Martha Orcutt, after a lingering illness, and at the age of 58 years 11 months and 28 days. Mrs. Orcutt was born in Buena Vista township, Clayton county, Iowa, on December 11, 1858, and later was married to Thomas Orcutt, who preceded her in death about 20 years ago. For a time deceased resided in Wisconsin, but of late years has been a resident of Guttenberg. She was a patient sufferer, and all that loving hands could do and medical knowledge could suggest was done for her to ward off death, but all failed, when the Angel of Death called her to the Great Beyond on last Sunday morning. She was a kind and true mother and friend, and will be sadly missed by all. Her death is deeply mourned by four daughters, three sons, several grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends. The body was taken to Burton, Wis., Wednesday, where the funeral was held.
