Minnie Seeley-Peick died at her home in this city, last Saturday, November 17, 1917, after an illness of several months.
Minnie Seeley was born at McGregor, Iowa, April 4, 1871 and resided here all her life. She attended the McGregor schools and was a graduate of the high school. For many years her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. Seeley, conducted a hotel in McGregor.
She was married in 1895 to C. T. Peick, a photographer of more than ordinary ability, who did some valuable work in making scenic views of the Mississippi, which are considered in photographic circles as the best of their kind ever made. He died, December 5th, 1912.
She is survived by a daughter and two sons: Miss Cecil, who is at home; Clyde, who is employed at Austin, Minn., and Leland who is with the American forces somewhere in France, and was the first of the McGregor boys to go to France. A stepson, Donald Peick, is at Camp Dodge.
The deceased has been held in the highest esteem by her many friends in McGregor and vicinity. Her death brings sorrow to many who have known and loved her in life. She was a true wife, mother and friend.
And now, having put off life's burdens, may she rest in peace.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. _utler
The burial was made in the cemetery at this place.
