Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 28 June 1917. Garnavillo column.
Felix A. Degnan was born on June 17, 1889, at Clayton, Iowa, and died at Garnavillo on June 14, 1917. His boyhood days were spent in Clayton until 1910, when he entered the services of the C.M. & St.P. Ry. as telegraph operator. He worked in this capacity until July, 1915, when ill health compelled him to give up his work. He spent some time at the sanitarium at Oakdale, Iowa, but for some months has been here with his mother who so tenderly cared for him during his illness. Besides his mother, he leaves one sister, Mrs. Marie Mueller, and two brothers, John, of Brownville, Minn., and James, at home. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's church, Saturday morning, Rev. Raedler officiating.
