Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 21 June 1917. Monona column.

The funeral of Mrs. Looby was held in Farmersburg on Tuesday, Rev. J. B. Bird, of the Methodist Episcopal church, having charge of the service, assisted by Rev. C. E. Baker, of the Monona M. E. church. Mrs. Looby was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Walter, of Farmersburg, and leaves one sister and five brothers. The interment was in the U. B. cemetery.

(Note: WPA records indicate, Gertrude Looby, 1894 - 1917, buried in the United Brethern cemetery.)

Mrs. Richard Looby was killed in an auto accident Saturday afternoon near Castalia. The funeral was held here Tuesday at 10:00 o'clock, and burial took place in the U. B. cemetery.
