Fingar Johnson was born in Eggedals Annex, November 17th, 1827. He came to this country in 1850 to Jefferson Prairie, Wis. In 1851 he came to this county, where he lived until his death.
On December 11th, 1853, he was married to Ingri Moen. They resided on the Gunder Rugland farm until 1895, when they moved to their home near Norway Church, where they lived until the death of Mrs. Johnson, December 28th, 1915. In January, 1916, he moved to the home of his son John, where he died April 5th, 1917, at the age of 89 years, 4 months and 18 days.
He leaves to mourn his departure four children, Mrs. T. A. Wold, John, Mrs. Gunder Rugland and Gunild. Four children have preceded him in death, Henry, Gunild, Malla and Mrs. H. R. Hanson. He also leaves twenty-seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held at the Norway Church, Saturday, April 7th, Rev. Arveson officiating. Six of his grandchildren acted as pallbearers.
