Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 11 Jan. 1917. Volga column.

Word came to us last week Wednesday that Miss Emma Bennington had passed away. It cast a gloom over all. She had been a patient sufferer for eighteen weeks. She will be greatly missed, not only in the home where she has been a comfort but in the church and community. The funeral services were held in the M.E. church Saturday, Jan. 6th. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. The family has the sympathy of the entire community.
