Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 04 Jan. 1917.

Word was received here Tuesday of the death of George Carlson at Jim Falls, Wis. The message came that Mr. Carlson was out hunting and was accidentally shot. Mr. and Mrs. Carlson had been residents around McGregor all their lives until about a year ago, when they went to Jim Falls on a farm they had bought. He leaves a six-months-old son, wife, nee Audrey Kersten, mother, father and several brothers to mourn his loss. Mrs. Emil Kersten and the Carlson brothers left Wednesday morning for Jim Falls. The remains will be brought to McGregor for burial.
