Louisa Fran_ was born August 27, 1871, at Sherrill's Mound, Iowa, Dubuque county, and was married to Ed Osthoff October 1st, 1895, at the same place, and died at Clayton Thursday, May 20th, 1909, after an illness of only nine days. She leaves to mourn her untimely loss a husband and four small children, Esther, 12 years old; Edwin, six; Irene, four; and a baby nine months old; also a father and mother and three brothers and a sister: Mr. and Mrs. Fran_, of this place; George, of Dubuque; Albert and Willie, of Clayton; Mrs. W_rb, of Dubuque; Mrs. Mori_, of Sherill's Mound; and Angline, of Clayton. Mrs. Osthoff was a noble woman, possessed of the many excellent qualities of a loving life companion and mother, with a host of friends wherever she was known. Her burial took place in the Clayton cemetery where she was laid at rest. She was followed to the church by a concourse of relatives and friends who paid their last respects to one whose years has been filled with kindness and cheerful acts. We speak the sentiments of her entire acquaintance when we say no dearer woman or kinder hearted form was ever laid to rest in that cemetery where the body slumbers the everlasting sleep, but her soul, now beautiful in the eternal heaven. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved husband and family.
