STRAWBERRY POINT: The death of Carl Finck occurred Thursday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leta Dexter, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held at the Emanuel Lutheran church Saturday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. M. O. Jahr. Interment was made in the Union cemetery, southwest of Strawberry Point.
Carl Finck was born Sept. 18, 1859, at Mecklenburg, Germany. At the age of 25 years he with his parents emigrated to the United States and settled on a farm in Fayette county. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Hoffman Oct. 18, 1894, by Rev. G. Graf, a former pastor of the Lutheran church. For fifteen years Mr. Finck had been in failing health. About nine years ago Mr. and Mrs. Finck moved to Strawberry Point. Mrs. Finck passed away June 8, 1933. Mr. Finck is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Eldo (Clara) Kamoss, Mrs. Wm. (Minnie) Koja and Mrs. Leta Dexter, all of Strawberry Point, and two grandchildren; also one brother and one sister, Joe Finck and Mrs. Louisa Gamm, both of Strawberry Point, besides other relatives and a large circle of friends.
