Clayton County Register, Thur., 18 Oct. 1934.
St. Olaf: Mrs. Dora Gulsvig was born April 18, 1860, in Wagner township, and has spent most of her life here except a short time in San Francisco, Calif. Her parents were Tov Lofstuen and Miss Bergt Bringsrud. She was the only girl of a family of four. Three brothers, Knud, Gunder and Ole, have preceded her in death. Her father was accidentally killed at an early age and the mother and children were left to take care of the farm, known as the Ole Thompson farm. She took up dressmaking as her work and followed that work for many years.
In 1918 she was united in marriage to Asbjon Gulsvig. Her health was poorly lately and this fall she had been confined to her bed for several weeks with a lingering illness. On the afternoon of October 9th she passed away to the great beyond, where she so many times has longed to meet her Savior and Redeemer. She will always be remembered as a good-hearted woman, always ready to help in time of need. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, several cousins, nephews and nieces and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 12th, at the Norway church, Rev. S. J. Strandjord officiating. May she rest in peace and her memory never be forgotten.
