Clayton County Register, Thur., 18 Oct. 1934. Guttenberg column.

Mrs. Ernst Enderes, long-time highly-esteemed resident of Clayton county, passed away at her home here Friday morning at 7:00 o'clock at the age of 72 years and three months. She had been in failing health for the past several years. On Wednesday she had the misfortune to receive injuries from a fall at her home, which, with other complications, caused her death. Mrs. Enderes was born at Lansing, Iowa, on July 12, 1862, where she received her education and grew to womanhod. On September 8, 1883, she was married at Elkader to Mr. Ernst Enderes. After their marriage they settled at Postville, where they lived four years, then going to Littleport for about 30 years. The family went to Albert Lea, Minn., where they lived until they came to Guttenberg to make their home, where deceased spent the remainder of her ambitious life. Her death is deeply mourned by her husband, three children, J. W. Enderes and Mrs. Seymour Latteyer of Guttenberg, and Mrs. George Ruegnitz of Volga township; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John Trayer of Lansing, and many other relatives and friends, who will all sadly miss this good and worthy wife, mother and friend. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. D. D. Welch, of Dubuque, at the Enderes home in this city Sunday afternoon, with interment in the city cemetery. The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends from far and near.

(Note: WPA records indicate Louisa Enders, 1862 - 1934, buried in the city cemetery.)
