Leo Sherman Weymouth departed this life October 4, 1934, in the Lutheran hospital at La Crosse, Wis., at 12:45 p.m., after a lingering illness.
The body was brought to the funeral home Sunday evening, where it was prepared for burial and then taken to the family residence, the O. W. Weymouth farm, seven miles northeast of Elkader, in Wagner township.
Leo Weymouth was born November 26, 1917. In his 17 years he attended the Elkader public school. While in school he played in the band and was very active in many school activities.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Weymouth, two sisters, Ina and Esther, and one brother, Calvin, all at home, and his grandfather, Lueb Peter Anderson, of Denmark; besides a host of relatives and friends.
The funeral was Sunday afternoon at the residence. During the services Miss Ruth Stebor sang a soprano solo. A quartet composed of schoolmates, Joe Meyer, Don Wolf, Homer Olson and Laverne Meyer, sang "In A Garden." The services were closed with Joseph Meyer, young baritone, singing "Rock Of Ages."
Rev. Stuempf__g, pastor of the Lutheran church, Elkader, officiated throughout the services.
Burial was made in a lot on the home farm.
