Rodney F. "Whitey" Waterman, 51, of Guttenberg died Saturday, April 24, 1999 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
Services were conducted by Msgr. John McClean at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 26, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Guttenberg.

Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, Guttenberg, with the following pallbearers: Richard Menadue, Sam Thein, Cale Waterman, Rocky Thein, Terry Thein and Scott Waterman.

Visitation was Sunday at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Rodney F. "Whitey" Waterman was born June 3, 1947 in Guttenberg, a son of Dwight and Irene (Kann) Waterman.

He received his education in Guttenberg and was a fisherman, trapper and recycled metal for many years.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Irene Waterman of Guttenberg; one brother, Thomas (Diane) Waterman of Dubuque; one niece, Mrs. Jennifer (Richard) Menadue; two nephews, Cale Waterman and Scot Waterman; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.
