GUTTENBERG: Mrs. Albert Sadewasser, nee Anna Behrend, life-long resident of this community, passed away at her home here on Saturday morning at 2:00 o'clock at the age of 59 years, 11 months and 24 days, following an illness of long duration. Mrs. Sadewasser was born on a farm in Millville township, Clayton county, Iowa, on Sept. 1, 1874, where she grew to womanhood. She was reared in the Lutheran faith, and was confirmed by the Rev. J. Janzig at St. John's American Lutheran church in Guttenberg. On Dec. 5, 1893, she was married to Mr. Albert Sadewasser, Sr., by the Rev. J. Janzig, at St. John's American Lutheran church in Guttenberg. After their marriage the couple settled in Guttenberg, and, with the exception of four years when they resided on a farm, the remainder of the deceased's ambitious and true Christian life was spent here. During her illness she was a patient sufferer and had hopes for recovery, until the Angel of Death called her to the Great Beyond Saturday morning. All was done that could be done to save her life, but all to no avail. Her death is deeply mourned by her husband, six children, namely: Mrs. Frank Bechler, Albert and William Sadewasser and Mrs. William Randall, of this place; Otto Sadewasser, of Dubuque, and Mrs. Elmer Brown of Sheffield, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Charles Mierson, of Colesburg; five brothers, Wm. Behrend of Millville township, Fred and Martin Behrend of Guttenberg, John Behrend of Fayette, and Charles Behrend of Farmersburg, and numerous other relatives and friends, who will all sadly miss this good and true wife, mother, sister and friend. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. J. F. Adix at St. John's American Lutheran church here on Monday afternoon, with interment in the city cemetery. The funeral was very largely attended by relatives and friends from far and near, which showed that deceased was held in high esteem by all who kneww her.
