ELKPORT: The funeral services of Nettie E. Kriebs, who died at Elkport Tuesday, August 7th, were held at St. Michael's church Friday, August 10, 1934.
Nettie E. Kriebs was born in North Adams, Mass., March 8, 1866. She was a daughter of Jerome and Margaret Goodsell. At the age of two years she and her parents moved to Iowa and settled in Mallory township, Clayton county. After a few years the family moved to Elkport, where they lived until the death of the parents
She was married to F. J. Kriebs at Elkport, Iowa, Sept. 12, 1894. She is survived by her husband, one child, Sister Mary Columbia, who teaches in Mundelheim College at Chicago; one sister, Mrs. Michael Stence of Elkport; two brothers, William at Specht's Ferry, Iowa, and Henry, at San Diego, Calif.
Father Wallace of Tremplealeau, Wis., read the mass and Father Frances Phelan of Dubuque delivered the sermon. Other priests in attendance were Father J. Fred Kriebs of Dubuque, Father Charles Goetzinger of Ionia, Iowa, and Rev. Wm. Goetzinger of Garber. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery at Elkader. The pall bearers were George L. Gifford, B. A. Voss, Henry Hafner, R. C. Hafner, William Vorwald and Max Zapf.
