Forest Wood died last Thursday, June 14, at 2:30 p.m. at the home of his sister, Mrs. Ida Finnegan, in West Haven. He had had a cerebral hemorrhage at about 11 o'clock in the morning.
Two weeks ago he had reached the age of 66, as he was born June 8, 1868. He was the son of Alexander Wood and Mary Boyce Wood. His birth place was in Read township, where he lived a number of years. More recently he has lived in Volga township at the Realto Berns farm. During the past few years he has made his home with his sister in West Haven.
Besides Mrs. Finnegan, he leaves two other sisters, Mrs. Hannah Boyce, of Marmarth, N.Dak., and Mrs. Lillian Klinkel, of Charles City, Iowa, and one brother, A. A. Wood, of Timberlake, S.Dak.
The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, June 17, at the home in West Haven and at the Congregational church in Elkader, with Rev. C. T. Brewster officiating. Burial was made in the family lot in the Eastside cemetery in Elkader.
