Saturday morning occurred the death of the oldest resident, Mrs. Rosina Mueller of Strawberry Point. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Emanuel's Lutheran church, conducted by her pastor, Rev. M. O. Jahr. Interment was made in the St. Sebald cemetery.
Rosina, the eldest child of seven children of Andrew and Elizabeth Huebleing, was born Sept. 17, 1840, at Baden, Eichel, Germany. When 12 years old she came with her parents to the United States, first settling in New Jersey, where she remained a year and a half, and then to Dubuque, where they remained the same length of time.
From Dubuque they drove a team to St. Sebald, a distance of about 70 miles, and settled on a farm July 4, 1858. She was united in marriage to Henry Mueller, by Rev. George Grossman, then pastor of the St. Sebald church. She is the oldest charter member of the St. Sebald church and the oldest member of the local Lutheran church. Mr. Mueller died Sept. 2, 1900. Mrs. Miller and her children remained on the farm for five years, after which they moved to Strawberry Point, where she purchased the home where she passed away. Of her seven children, only two remain. She is survived by her two children, John Mueller of Buffalo, Wyoming, and Miss Rose Mueller of Arthur, N.Dak., also six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Sutter of Rock Rapids, Mrs. Anna Leisinger of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mrs. Amelia Mittelstadt of Enid, Okla.
