Lawrence* Boland died last Sunday morning in his home in Armstrong, Iowa, following an accident when he was struck by an automobile while crossing the street late last Saturday evening. The deceased remained conscious for some time after the accident and was comforted by the last rites of his church.

Mr. Bowland was born on the home farm in Highland township, December 27, 1884, the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Boland and so at the time of his death had reached the age of 49 years, three months and 25 days.

The body was brought from Armstrong to the home of his brother, Thomas E., near Strawberry Point and funeral services were held Tuesday morning in Sacred Heart church, Cox Creek township, with burial in Cox Creek cemetery, the Rev. Father P. J. Boyle officiating.

The deceased is survived by his aged father, T. A. Boland, who lives with a son near Strawberry Point; six brothers, Thomas E., Strawberry Point; F. J. and Daniel P., Two Harbors, Minn.; Wm. P. and Leo C., Elkader: Mathew J., Los Angeles, and two sisters Mrs. F. W. Paige, Elkader, and Sister Mary Anita of Danbury. His mother and one brother, Raymond, preceded him in death.

Casket bearers were: T. E. Boland, G. A. Benson, O. H. Larson, Elkader; J. J. Boland, Waucoma, and Marcus O'Brien and Ed. Berns, both of Strawberry Point.

I strongly believe that the name Lawrence given in the obit was a newspaper error.

Also, exact burial place is not clear, ie: Sacred Heart Cox Creek cemetery or St. Mary's in Strawberry Point.
