Michael David O'Day departed this life April 18th, 1934, at eight o'clock, at the family residence near Littleport, Iowa. Mr. O'Day had been ill for the past several months. He was born in Lodomillo township, Oct. 29, 1888, and while still a youth the family moved to the farm near Littleport, and he remained there until his death. He was very well known and thought of in the surrounding community.
He is survived by one brother, John O'Day, Littleport; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Emmerson, Strawberry Point, and Mrs. Margaret Conboy, Elberta, Mich. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo, Thomas and Henry, and one sister, Jane.
Michael O'Day was a member of the Sacred Heart church in Littleport, and died comforted with the last rites of the church.
Mr. O'Day also served in the World War, with the 32nd Engineers.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning from the family residence at 9:30 o'clock to the Sacred Heart church in Littleport at 10 o'clock. Burial was made in Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery in Littleport. Rev. Goetzinger officiated at the church and cemetery.
