Strawberry Point

Arnold George Kray, 94, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at his residence in Strawberry Point, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, of 54 years; his two sons, Andrew (Colleen) of Spillville and David (partner Gay Brechler) of Arlington; and three grandchildren, Emily, Drew and Chaska Kray.

Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Strawberry Point, with Pastor Susan Friedrich officiating.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Strawberry Point. Friends may also call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church on Wednesday.

Interment: Cass Township Cemetery. Strawberry Point, Iowa.

Arnold George Kray, 94, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at his residence in Strawberry Point, Iowa. He was born on February 5, 1927 near Arlington, the son of John and Ella (Schuchmann) Kray. Arnold was raised and educated in Fayette County and attending Putnam #1 Rural School.

On August 7, 1966, Arnold was united in marriage to Mary McIntrye at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Strawberry Point. Two sons were born to this union. Together they farmed the Kray home farm. In 2003 Arnold and Mary moved to Strawberry Point.

Arnold was a life-long member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church. He was one who enjoyed his farming and in early years flying small planes. Arnold enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, of 54 years; his two sons, Andrew (Colleen) of Spillville and David (partner Gay Brechler) Kray of Arlington; and three grandchildren, Emily, Drew and Chaska Kray.

Arnold was preceded in death by his brother, John Kray, Jr.; granddaughter, Angela Margaret Kray in 2006; and his parents.
