Clayton County Register, Thur., 26 Apr. 1934.
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Louise Bowersox, of Highmore, S.Dak., whose remains were brought here Tuesday, were held at the Gill Funeral Chapel Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. J. Kidder of Manchester, assisted by the local M.E. pastor, Rev. Thomas J. Elwick. The pall bearers were: Ernest Schroeder of Dundee, Harvey Troupe, Harvard Laity, James Alderson, J. J. Jewell and Richard Laity. Interment was made in the family lot in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
Anna Louise, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sothman of Dundee, was born October 26, 1879, and died at her home near Highmore, S.D., Friday, April 13, 1934, at the age of 54 years, five months and 18 days. After finishing her education she taught in Delaware county for several years.
She was united in marriage on Dec. 26, 1906, to George L. Laity. They resided on a farm in Delaware county until 1911, when they moved to Tulare, S.D. Two children were born to this union, Gertrude, who died March 18, 1913, at the age of one year and four months, and Gerald Thomas. Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 1918.
December 19, 1919, she was united in marriage to William Bowersox of Tulare, S.D. Following their marriage they moved to Highmore, S.D., where they have since resided.
She was of a warm and generous nature and her first devotion has ever been to her home and to those who were near her. She ever had time to offer sympathy to those outside her own family who chanced to need it, day by day, quietly lightening the burden wherever she could.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cothman, and one sister, and she leaves to mourn her death, her husband, William Bowersox of Highmore, S.D., and one son, Thomas Laity, a sister, Mrs. Fred Shore of Dundee, and two brothers, Fred Sothman of Minot, N.D., and Wm. Sothman of Chicago, Ill. To these we extend our sincere sympathy.
Among the out of town relatives who attended the funeral were her husband and son, of Highmore, S.Dak., Mrs. Bert Laity of Canistota, S.D., Earl Jamisch and Dora Lee of Montrose, S.D., Rev. and Mrs. J. J. Kidder and Joyce of Manchester, Mr. and Mrs. Goldsborough and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shore of Dundee.
