Mrs. Louisa Fuelling was born September 14th, 185_, in Grossgo__en, in Mecklenberg, Schwerin, Germany. While yet a small child she came to America with her parents and settled in Garnavillo.
Her entire life has been spent in the vicinity of Garnavillo and Farmersburg. When but a small girl she, together with the rest of the family, mourned the loss of their father, after which she and her mother made their home together, and later moved in with another sister.
Following the death of her mother she lived with Mrs. Dora Henkes. Until her marriage she spent her time securing work in the various homes in the community.
On April 29, 1909, she was married to Louis Fuelling. She together with him, took up their residence in Farmersburg, where they enjoyed many happy days together. A year ago last November, due to their ages and the hardship of taking care of their own home, they moved into the country with Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Fuelling. Here they were faithfully and thoughtfully cared for. During this time it became very apparent that the health of Mrs. Fuelling was failing. Suffering from time to time with sinking spells. But she always rallied again until about two weeks ago, when her husband was a constant companion by her bedside, realizing that her suffering, death would bring the desired relief, and yet hoping that with the feeling of care he had for her she might be spared for a while longer. She died Monday morning, April 2nd, at 10:15, at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 19 days. Her death was due to bronchial pneumonia and an abcess on her lungs, which caused her considerable pain and suffering in her last days.
She, together with her husband, have been members of the Farmersburg Lutheran congregation, and she a member of the Frauen-verein, an organization of that church.
Mrs. Fuelling has been preceded in death by her sisters and her parents, and leaves to mourn her husband, Mr. Louis Fuelling, two nephews and seven nieces.
