GARNAVILLO: Mrs. H. C. Kuenzel, a long-time resident of this community, died at the home of her son W. B. Kuenzel Wednesday noon following a illness of several months.

Helene Catherine, better known as Nellie Walleser, was born at Garnavillo, July 6th, 1861. Her parents were Mathias and Rosina Ru__ter Walleser.

On July 9th, 1884 she was married to Mr. Herman Christopher Kuenzel and the couple took up their residence in the home connected with the drug store which Mr. Kuenzel operated. In 1918 they removed to a new home. Here Mr. Kuenzel died on March 19th, of last year. She remained at her home until January 4th, when illness overtook her and she removed to her son's home. Here she passed away Wednesday noon, April 4th. Her age was 72 years, 8 months and 28 days.

Mrs. Kuenzel is survived by one son, Weber B. Kuenzel, who is married to Adele Kregel, as also by two grandsons, Norris and Calvin. One brother also survives her, Joseph of Davenport, and two sisters, Mrs. Rosina Schumacher of Garnavillo and Mrs. Anna Kuenzel of Dubuque.

Two sisters, Mrs. Frances Dickman of Nashua and Mrs. Elizabeth Krasinsky, Garnavillo, two brothers Emil of Garnavillo and Henry of Nashua, preceded her in death.

Funeral services at the home of her son Saturday at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. G. Bunge, Interment in new cemetery.

Relatives from away who were here to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Walleser and Ernest Walleser of Charles City, Mrs. Roy Waite and Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson of Nashua Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kuenzel of Dubuque, Mrs. Joseph Walleser of Davenport, Miss Roy Walleser of Minneapolis, Mrs. M. Geraghty and daughter Mildred of Elkader.
