Strawberry Point: Funeral services of Mrs. Roy Thomas were held Tuesday afternoon at her home near Thorpe, conducted by Rev. Thomas J. Elwick, M.E. pastor of Strawberry Point. Interment was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
Mary Ann Jefferson, daughter of Cyrus and Ellen Jane Jefferson, was born near Strawberry Point, January 4, 1895, and died at her home near Thorpe, Iowa, March 18, 1934.
She was married in 1914 to Grover Brandenburg before the World war. They had one son, Earl Burdette, who lives at home. Mrs. Thomas was married March 12, 1922, to Roy Thomas at Manchester. For 11 years they lived three miles north of Edgewood, moving to the present home, March 1, of last year.
They had five children, Ella Mae, Lula Marie, Donald Ralph, Lavon Blanche, and Esther Mary, all living at home.
She is survived by her husband, six children, two brothers, Charles E. Jefferson of Strawberry Point, Rufus M. Jefferson of Guttenberg, one half-sister, Mrs. Jay Dewey of Arlington, and other relatives and friends.
