Miss Lydia Frederich, daughter of Albert and Augusta Frederich, one of nine children, was born August 8, 1862, in Wagner township, Iowa. She passed away Friday evening at 11:35 o'clock at her Elkader home, at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 24 days.

Miss Frederich spent most of her life on the home place. After the death of her parents, she kept house for her two brothers until five years ago,, when they were called to their reward. For the past four years she has made her home in Elkader.

Those who knew her best describe her as a quiet, hard-working, kindhearted person. She was baptized in infancy. For a number of years she was afflicted with the dread disease of cancer and suffered greatly.

She leaves to mourn her departure two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Folon, Volga City; Mrs. Sarah Keunsch, Earlham, Iowa, and nephews and nieces, and many friends.

Services were held at the home, Saturday, February 24, at 1:15; in Evangelical church at 1:30. Interment at Eno cemetery, Wagner township, the Rev. P. Kitterer officiating
