Monona, Ia. - Services for Mrs. Fred W. Lange, 87, were Wednesday from the Schultz Funeral Home here to the Giard Methodist Church. The Rev. G.H. Goodrisk officiated, assisted by the Rev. R.D. Butler, of Cresco, a former pastor.
Mrs. Lange died last Monday after an extended illness. She was the former Lena Emaline Allert, daughter of William and Caroline (Borcherding) Allert, and was born Feb. 26, 1865 in Dubuque County. She resided in the Giard and Froelich communities most of her life.
She was married to Charles N. Lange May 5, 1898. He died July 12, 1899. On June 19, 1901, Mrs. Lange was married to his twin brother, Fred W. Lange. He died Feb. 16, 1926.
Surviving are three sons, Carl, of LaCrosse, Wis.; Kenneth, of Luana; and Wesley, of Monona; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two half brothers, John W. Allert and William J. Allert, of Monona and a half sister, Mrs. L.M. Yearous, of Giard.
