Elkader Register, Thur., 02 Mar. 1905.
At her residence in Cox Creek twp., occurred the death of Mrs. Patrick Rielly, on Friday morning, Feb. 24th. Bridget Smith was born at Black Lyon, County Cavin, Ireland, about the year 1825, married Patrick Rielly in 1857, and emigrated to America in the same year, landing at Boston, Mass., where they resided until the year 1865, when they removed to Clayton county, Iowa, settling in Cox Creek twp., where they have ever since resided. She was sick but a few days with that dreaded disease lagrippe, which developed into pneumonia and with her advanced age was beyond medical skill. She was a woman who was beloved by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her loss one sister, who resides at Wakefield, Mass., a husband and one son John, who resides n Cox Creek twp., and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from her late residence on Monday, Feb. 27th, burial at Elkader, in St. Joseph's cemetery, Fathers Hartigan and Reilly officiating. May her soul rest in peace.
