Last Friday morning a sad accident occurred at the West Yards, ending in the death of Wm. Lanker, a brakeman on the I. and D. division of the C.M. & St. P. R.R. While in discharge of his duty he was run over by the train and soon after was taken to the Clark Hospital at McGregor, where the amputation of a leg was performed. He died Sunday afternoon at three o'clock. his home was at Mason City and he leaves a wife and one small child.- McGregor News.
