Elkader Register, Thur., 16 June 1904.

At her home at Mederville on Friday, June 10th, 1904, occurred the death of Mrs. Dorothea Meder, wife of Supervisor Henry Meder. Deceased was born in Karbow, Mecklenberg-Schwerin, in 1836, and was married to Henry Meder in 1858. Thirteen children were born to them, nine daughters and four sons, of whom four daughters have preceded the mother in death.

The following children survive and mourn the loss of mother: Louis, of Tuttle, I.T.; Mrs. Emma Nugent, of Merrill, Wis.; Mrs. Lena Behrens, Mrs. Rosa Marshall, Bernard, Albert and Charles, of Mederville; Mrs. Ida Dinan, of Cascade; Mrs. Clara Dittmer, of Cox Creek twp.

Mrs. Meder was a woman held in high esteem by her neighbors and friends and the largely attended funeral held on Sunday last fully attested to her worth. Rev. G. F. Braun officiated and the German singers of Elkader, were present to assist in the singing. The funeral was one of the largest ever held at Mederville.
