Elkader Register, Thur., 02 June 1904. Strawberry Point column.
Last Sunday at their home near the County Corners the Sager home was in mourning. Al Sager died at six o'clock in the morning and his mother, Mrs. Amanda Sager, died at three o'clock in the afternoon. This family has been afflicted with typhoid fever for a number of weeks and death has claimed these two and still more in the family are ill. Death at all times is sad, but it seems as though if two die out of the same family within nine hours, it is more than any of us can stand, but God knoweth and doeth all things for the best. Funeral services occurred Monday, Rev. O. C. DePuy officiating in a very fitting manner, and the remains were laid close together in one grave in the cemetery at County Corners. A number from town attended. The family have the sympathy of all in their hour of sadness and sickness. We hope the sick ones in this family will improve.

Note: Cemetery records give her maiden name as THOMPSON, and her son was Alton.
