MRS. WM. SIEBERTZ.

The death of Mrs. Wm. Siebertz occurred Monday evening at her home on High Street. She was eighty years of age and had been in poor health for some time.

Elizabeth Beck was born in Baden, Germany, April 26th, 1835. She came to the United States in 1851 living for a time in New York, later in Dubuque and then in Garnavillo. The family came to Elkader in 1870 and here her husband died in 1879.

Two daughters and a son survive her death; Miss Mary, who has always been the faithful companion and helper of her mother, Mrs. Will Prior, of Seattle, Wash. and John, of Syracuse, New York, besides other relatives and many friends. Mrs. Siebertz was a faithful mother, a good neighbor, a kind friend. There are many who have lived for a time in her home who will revere here memory almost as they would their mother’s.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the home and she was laid to rest in the family lot in the East Side cemetery. Rev. C. H. Franke officiated.
